Cameroon leapfrogs to Top 10 in Latest Fifa Ranking.

The National Football Team of Cameroon has leapfrogged 19 places in the recent coca-cola FIFA ranking to the 60th team in the world and 10th in Africa. The Lions scored big points last month after beating Togo 2-1 in Yaounde to go top of Group I.

This is coming at a time when the country’s football has been under serious scrutiny. The Minister of Sport Adoum Garoua recently overturned his decision to suspend elections at Fecafoot for fear of Fifa’s sanctions.

The Biggest jump was the ‘ndzaland’ of Equatorial Guinea who somersaulted 45 places to land at 59 in the World and 9th in Africa, one spot ahead of Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions. Meanwhile, the Elephants of Ivory Coast are 1st while AFCON 2013 winners, The Super Eagles of Nigeria fell one spot behind to 31st in the World and 4th in Africa.
