Cameroon gov’t honours Issa Hayatou

 

The President of the Confederation of African Football, Caf, Issa Hayatou has been has been elevated to the rank of Commander of the Order of Valor following a decision by President of the Republic of Cameroon, H.E Paul Biya.

Hayatou who was recently re-elected as Caf President was decorated in Yaounde on Tuesday by Cameroon’s Minister of Sports Adoum Garoua.

According to the government of Cameroon, the decision to elevate Hayatou to the rank of Commander of the Order of Valor is a reward for his distinguished leadership as President of CAF in the promotion and development of African Football.

Issa Hayatou has been head of the Confederation of African Football for over two decades and has described this mandate as his last.
