Some players of the Cameroon national team have told pressmen that they’ll do everything to avoid a back to back absence for Cameroon from the Afcon. They were part of a press conversation with journalists after their first training session ahead of Sunday’s 2013 Afcon return leg clash against Cape Verde in Yaounde.
Talking to supersports.com, the team’s central defender Aurelien Chedjou said missing out of the South African rendez-vous doesnot even cross their thoughts.
‘We will win that game with a confortable margin,’ he said, adding ‘we know the Cape Verdians are going to come and play on the defensive, but we also know ourselves and the coach is capable of mapping out a strategy to outplay such style.’
On his part, midfielder Jean II makoun who is coming back to the den for the first time since the Marraketch scandal declared, ‘the ambiance in the group is ok, most of us have seen ourselves again after a while and we are all looking towards a confortable win on Sunday.’
To note that the Indomitable lions need to reverse a 2-nil defeat to Cape Verde to qualify for the 2013 continental soccer bonanza. They missed out of the 2012 edition in neigboring Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
