Cameroonian parliamentarians have called for Eto’o to be deposed as captain
A Cameroonian parliamentarian has told parliament hat Indomitable lions captain Samuel Eto’o be stripped of his armband.
In a question and answer session on Wednesday where Cameroon’s sports minister was reviewing the year’s sports activities, the law maker called on the minister to replace Eto’o with a more consensual captain.
“Eto’o is our greatest player. He’s the richest, the star, and mostly full of himself,” Ngalé said. “We must find someone else, more consensual as captain. We’ve had in this country someone like Tataw Stephen as the Lions captain. He wasn’t a star. We must find another,” Hon Ngale told parliament.
Eto’o has been under strong criticisms ever since missing a crucial penalty that dent Cameroon’s hopes of qualifying for next year’s Africa cup of nations.
